Ethics

The primary responsibility is for the health and safety of the client. Work must be carried out with due care and diligence. In practical terms, the professional must be familiar with the necessary parts of first aid, must cover cuts or sores with appropriate covering (e.g. Micropore), must use disinfectant hand wipes between appropriate parts of massage, and must ensure that no contraindications are exhibited. The table must be made safe and the sheets and towels hygienic.

Raindrop

The Raindrop Technique is a powerful, non-invasive tool for assisting the body in correcting defects in the curvature of the spine. The Raindrop technique integrates Vita Flex and massage, utilizing the power of essential oils in bringing the body into a structural and electrical alignment. It is based on the theory that many types of scoliosis and spinal misalignments are caused by viruses or bacteria that lie dormant along the spine. These pathogens create inflammation, which in turn, contorts and disfigures the spinal column. Using only therapeutic grade essential oils, these oils are dispensed like little drops of rain from a height of about six inches above the back and massaged along the vertebrae and back muscles.

Pregnancy

Massage during pregnancy differs from a regular massage in a couple of ways. The biggest way it differs is that the person receiving the massage is pregnant, and therefore knowledge of pregnancy and the anatomy of a pregnant woman are very important. This means that positioning during a massage is critical to the safety and well-being of both the mother and the baby she is carrying. There are also parts of the body that should not be massaged.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being. Essential oils which are the pure "essence" of a plant, have been found to provide both psychological and physical benefits when used correctly and safely.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu, also known as acupressure, is a finger pressure massage technique. that is sometimes confused with acupuncture. Shiatsu massage therapy and acupuncture are founded on the Chinese meridian system. The therapist applies pressure with his thumbs, finger, and palms to specific areas of the client's body that have been determined during an assessment period prior to the massage session. There are no needle pokes involved with Shiatsu. Massage techniques like tapping, squeezing, rubbing, and applied pressure are applied along the meridians to unblock energy blockages and reintroduce the optimal flow of ki.

Stone Therapy

Objective of this program is to utilize the use of hot / cold stones as an added tool to your practice. The program consists of lecture, exchange massage sessions, group evaluation, video presentations, professional massage sessions and exams. Students learn & apply basic hot/cold stone massage with foundation layouts & advanced healing technique.

Reflexology

The program consists of lecture, exchange massage sessions, group evaluation, video presentations, professional massage sessions and exams. Students will learn how to apply basic reflexology treatments with foundation layouts & guided practical sessions. The course teaches the main concept of Reflexology, in which points in the hands and feet are mapped and correspond to organs, glands and other parts of the body. These reflex points are then manipulated to effect and enhance the health & well being of the receiver.
